Just one of those days…

one of those days

Just had one of those days. Everyone is driving you crazy. Work is a nightmare and I’ve had enough.

Enough interj. Used to express impatience or exasperation.

But… sometimes you just can’t go anywhere. You can’t run away. You can’t hide. You just have to struggle through it.

When I was kid, my brother and cousins used to go hiking up and down the rivers near Grande Cache, Alberta. We would jump off big rocks and cliffs into the mountain fresh water. It was cold. But it was so much fun, so we didn’t care. We would try to jump in the pools where the water was calm. But sometimes you’d get swept up by the current. One time I was pulled out by the current. And no matter how hard I flailed my arms, I could not swim up that current.

That’s how I felt at this point in time. No matter how hard I battle I could not, on my own strength, fix my situation.

At the moment of breaking down. I open my phone and this verse was posted by a friend.

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Phil 4:6-7 MSG

God is there. In your lowest of low. Your darkest day. You don’t need to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. He is waiting for you to ask him to take away your burdens.

Jesus, take my worries. I can’t handle them anymore. You know my heart is heavy. God you are in control. Make me whole. Protect me, and be my center. Amen.
